The Space:
Tucked into a private 76 acre sanctuary in the Beaverkill Valley, just outside Livingston Manor, Valley Lodge offers guests a peaceful getaway in a scenic setting. The log cabin has a rustic vibe, enhanced by the wood-burning fireplace in the living room, which is the heart of the home. A wall of picture windows that soar to the cathedral ceiling bathe the home in natural light and allow for year round appreciation of the picturesque natural surroundings. The owners say the most magical time is cozy snowy nights watching the snow fall, with the fireplace ablaze. There is also a modern wood stove which generates supplemental heat to the central heat system, should you choose to fire it up.

The kitchen and dining areas are essentially on the other side of the fireplace, with the bluestone chimney providing a textural backdrop for memorable meals spent around the dining table. On this ground level there is a queen bedroom as well as a full bathroom with a tub and shower.

Upstairs there are two more bedrooms, one with a queen and the other with two twins, and both have glass sliding doors that open onto private balconies. Between the bedrooms is a shared bathroom with shower.

There’s a super handy mudroom at the entrance where you can drop all your gear. And if you venture down a spiral staircase to the basement, a cedar sauna is the main attraction.

The Beaverkill Valley is a renowned haven for trout fishers, with the storied Beaverkill River winding its way through the area, creating stunning vignettes as it goes. This expansive property, featuring a number of apple trees, lends itself to long walks through the woods, where you can find yourself along the banks of Upper Beech Hill Brook. Or if meandering along the area’s quiet and most lovely country roads is more your cup of tea, you will be spoiled for choice.

Eateries, shops and two breweries are a pretty 15 minute drive from the house in Livingston Manor.

Grab a sandwich and local groceries at Main Street Farm, enjoy wood-fired pizza outdoors at The Kaatskeller, sip on some of the best local cider at Wayside Cider, pick up some local wines at Upstream, shop at the farmers market, or try Russel's General store in Bovina. Try fly fishing on Willowemoc Creek, golf nearby at Sullivan Country Country Club, horseback ride at Bridle Hill Farm, and visit the alpacas at Buck Brook Farm. Getting Around:
Hop in the car and enjoy driving the scenic, quiet roads of the Beaverkill Valley. Parking is at the end of the long driveway leading up to the house, please don't park on the grass.
