Come and escape - The rolling hills, brilliant green and soaring trees of the Sam Houston National Forest Area will surprise you!! Our home is located in a beautiful, gated community with so many amenities.
- This is a 2-story home with 2-Car garage. **Access to main level is via stairs, externally and from the garage **
- The 1st floor bedroom has a Queen and Twin bed, full bath access and laundry (all on the first floor) with it's own private ground-level deck.
- The Master Bedroom is upstairs, with a king-size bed and bath access.
- The garage was just converted to a fun hang-out bar and gameroom for watching the game, playing games, darts, listening to music or just having fun.
- The open concept Living Room has a fireplace and a Kitchen with eating bar and breakfast area on the 2nd floor. The master suite is up there as well (as mentioned above).
- There's a huge wrap around deck with seating, table and comfy rocking chairs in the front - all overlooking the beautiful wooded lot. A new separate deck was just added on the other side with views of the side wooded lot and ravine - the perfect bird-watching and coffee-drinking space.
-There are 2 extra beds: a twin mattress and a twin air mattress (stored in master bedroom closet) for additional sleeping along with a comfy sectional.
-A fully stocked kitchen with everything you need to stay in and cook, including a gas grill along with a charcoal grill (Both are kept in the garage) ** We ask that you do not grill on the deck!**
-There's always plenty of coffee, filters, cream, sugar and tea in the cabinets. It's a filter, slow drip coffee maker, if you prefer to bring your own.
- Plenty of bedding and toiletries to make your stay comfortable. The king size bed in the master is amazingly comfortable!
- High-speed, reliable fiber-optic internet if this is a "work-ation" :)
- There's 3 mountain bikes stored in the garage - feel free to take a ride.
- New, custom-made cornhole games in the garage (Whoooop!) ;)
- For the safety of our guests and security of the property, there is an exterior camera near the front entry at 2nd level and one facing the garage.
- Take advantage of the nearby marina, nature trail, public lake access parks, and excellent, well-kept up tennis and basketball courts.
- Sam Houston National Forest and many trailheads are nearby for a hiking and picnic outing.
And...don't forget to check out the quaint town of Coldspring, the county seat of San Jacinto County :) I'll leave restaurant recommendations!

Summary: BE AWARE THERE IS NO VIEW OF THE LAKE FROM ANYWHERE ON THIS PROPERTY. I know after looking again at the listing it doesn't claim there is but we thought we were booking a cabin on the lake and we did not. So just be aware. I learned I need to be more careful and thorough when reading listings in the future. That being said, we did enjoy our stay. The cabin is very well stocked with all conveniences. My only complaint is that some things were in disrepair....screws stripped and hanging from wall on some fixtures etc. Very minor things. The master bed was extremely comfortable. Pillows to die for. And the multiple smart tvs was a very nice convenience.
