The 1935 cottage has been lovingly restored, featuring unobstructed views of the Puget Sound, Mt Rainier, Bainbridge Island, Blake Island, and Manchester State Park. Two stand-up paddleboards, paddles, life vests, and leashes are available to rent between Memorial and Labor Day weekend. Guests paddle at their own risk and are responsible for any damage done to the boards. Tide chart is available in the kitchen pantry. Hazardous currents can occur, we recommend paddling only at slack tide, with low wind conditions.
To the right of the mailbox, you will find two dedicated parking spots. The backyard is fenced, perfect for yard games. An 800 sq ft. plus deck offers exceptional outdoor living space, complete with an outdoor dining table for six and a gas fire pit. There are NO railings on the deck. Be aware that children are welcome, but we can not promise a child-friendly environment.
Additionally, the seawall stands approximately eight feet above the Puget Sound and is not child-friendly. The owners are not liable for guests' safety. Enjoy at your own risk.
The community has a noise ordinance that prohibits loud volumes between the hours of 9 pm and 9 am. Events and parties are not permitted and will not be tolerated. While on the subject of things you cannot do, no smoking, no drug use, and no pets allowed.
For those looking to recreate, the Wynn-Jones Nature Preserve is approximately .5 miles from the front door. The trail is not regularly maintained but does offer a beautiful one-mile loop through the forest. Additionally, Manchester State Park is two miles from the cottage by road and .5 miles by sea. Bring your vessel and explore all that the Washington Water Trail has to offer. Wildlife and bird-watching opportunities are abundant from the comfort of the reading nook or the deck.
The cottage is approximately 10 minutes from the local downtown area and shopping amenities.

Summary: Heron Haus was just what we needed! Waking up to the sunrise over the water was magical. The home was cozy, clean and well appointed. We would stay here again!
