Our little hideaway is the perfect spot to get away to the tranquil sites and sounds of Blue Ridge Mountains. A historic manor house, barn, secret waterfall, and working hops field set the stage for your stay. Come to enjoy the stunning mountain views on Glenthorne’s property or take a short drive up the mountain to Wintergreen Resort.
The Carriage House, circa 1926, is newly renovated to include the best amenities while maintaining the rustic luxury of our historic family home. A cozy loft features a queen-sized bed, a full dressing mirror, and a quaint sitting spot perfect for that morning cup of coffee, which you can make in the full kitchen downstairs. The kitchen and sitting room overlook the classic barn and mountain views. Hand-crafted double doors open to your private porch just perfect for those mountain evenings. What better way to end the night hiking in the mountains or touring Nelson’s Brewridge Trail than soaking in our vintage-style clawfoot tub. Your stay also gives you access to private trails on over 113 acres, including a secluded waterfall and riverfront landing on the babbling Rockfish River.
The Carriage House is completely furnished with all bed and bath linens, basic toiletries, dishes, flatware, pots and pans, and even a Weber grill on the patio. In our refrigerator, you will find a complementary variety of bottled waters, and the Keurig coffee maker comes with complementary k-cups.
