Social distancing at its finest-no better place for that staycation away from the city than here at Quarter House Acres. No big city noise or light pollution in these parts and the outdoors here should offer a welcomed respite from those masks.
Enjoy the quiet of the country in your own private, 2 bedroom suite (2nd bedroom available when party size requires it) while here. This place is the realization of our dream to be more self-sufficient and live a simpler and slower life. Groups over 4 (and up to 6) need to bring bedding & a cot or sleep on the floor.
Incredible westerly view-sunsets here are epic & stars at night don’t get much better! Chickens are ranging and orchard trees are producing all kinds of fruit on our acreage. Vegetable, lavender beds, and pastures are here to explore.
The stars at night are big and bright! No big city noise in these parts. Enjoy the peace of the country in your own private suite while here. We are just 2.5 miles from Clinton Anderson’s “Down Under Horsemanship” and just 6 miles north of Stephenville. We are 10 minutes north of Stephenville, Lonestar Arena, and Tarleton State University, and only 5 minutes SE of Larry Joe Taylor’s Melody Mountain Ranch.
Conveniently located just 30 minutes from Glen Rose (Fossil Rim Wildlife Park & Dinosaur Valley State Park), Old Town Hico (Wiseman House Chocolates and some neat shopping), and Dublin (home of Dublin Bottling Works, Black Jack's Coffee, and Veldhuizen Cheese). We're a relaxing and scenic drive from I-20 for those traveling cross country and hoping to stay somewhere memorable.
Families with older children are welcomed, though we're not setup for young children and infants, unfortunately.
Extended stays are welcome and those over a week in length will be asked to pay an additional $30 cleaning fee (charged upon arrival) each week of your stay, so we can do a thorough weekly cleaning to include a change of sheets and towels, etc.
Keypad entrance with access to your private bedroom and shared bathroom for your stay. Microwave, coffee maker, mini fridge, and some snacks offered while here. No access to kitchen and laundry. Guests are free to wander our 6 acres, admire the view and amazing sunsets off the back of the house, and stargaze to their heart’s content on clear nights. Pick a snack of a few peaches, apricots, pears, figs, mulberries, blackberries, or blueberries fresh off the tree while in season.
