Summary: $400 is a lot of money for so poor a property. It’s my fault for choosing it based on price. It’s not a value. It’s only less money. And you do not get what you pay for. It’s more of a boarding house than a hotel or inn. Check-in occurs at a store selling beach wear on the first floor. The teenager at the register asks your name, you write down your phone number on a piece of paper, they give you a key, and you are on your own after that to navigate the upstairs. The hallways are used as a storage area and apart from a number on the door, there’s nothing that makes it feel like it is in the hospitality business. You are not informed about parking or how to check out (when the store is closed at 8am the next day), two kind of big “need to knows” when staying someplace for the 1st time. The room had a great view, but smelled damped. I found the leak under the sink that had an overflowing cup under the leaking valve. Poorly maintained. Shameful, because it’s a beautiful old building in a great location, with ten better hotels around it. Mad at myself for cheaping out and wasting my money. Supply and demand wins big time on this one. I guess I’m just angry at myself. This “inn” is this way because they are allowed to be. Spend a bit more and stay up the hill. They get it.
