House sits on a half an acre of land with a brook running through the property next to a cedar grove. House two stories and 2400 sq. ft.. Walking distance to Rooster Comb Mountain trailhead and within view of Ausable River. During Winter Lake Placid and Whiteface mountain Ski resort are 14 miles away. Townspeople slide downhill at the Ausable Club golf coarse. I have sleds in my shed that can be used to slide downhill. There is ice skating at the community center in the town of Keene and in Lake Placid. There are 2 ice climbing spots - one is 3 miles south from my house at Chapel pond, the other is about 5 miles to the north at Cascade pass. Several high peaks hiking trailheads are only short distance away. You can ski at Whiteface, as we say up here - "you can ski the face".
During Summer my home is near multiple high peaks trailheads for hiking. The Ausable River is across the street from my home. The Ausable River splits into the east branch and west branch between Keene Valley and Lake Placid, the west branch of the river near Lake Placid is well known for great fly fishing. There are several lakes and ponds near my home for kayaking and boating. Several swimming holes and spots nearby, just ask the locals and they will direct you to them.
Very good restaurants in town. Keene Valley is a very nice quaint little town surrounded by mountains. I love the Adirondacks and I think you will too.
