Set your sights on long-range views with visits to Bell Mountain in Hiawassee (20-minute drive) and Brasstown Bald (highest point in GA, 25-minute drive). Spend the day on Lake Chatuge with a boat or personal watercraft (rentals available from local marinas). Want to immerse yourself in nature in the Nantahala National Forest? Bring your mountain bikes and ride the first-class trails at Jackrabbit Mountain (also great for hiking and dog-friendly) 15 minutes from the property. The Chatuge Dam Trail (17 minutes away) offers a paved, dog-friendly path for those who want an easy stroll with sweeping views of the lake and mountains.
