Summary: It was kind of nice being located in the village of Stratton, close to restaurants and the grocery store. Being at the edge of town, the location was quiet, with nice wooded scenery out the window. The house itself was in tip-top shape and appropriately rustic in decor, like you would expect of a cabin in Maine, but the heat, plumbing, internet, etc. were all up to date. The only thing I missed was the lack of appropriate cocktail tools so that I could make my evening Manhattans, but I did manage to improvise.
