River Rock Retreat is perfectly located on your way down the hill and into Sunland. This home is just what you need for family summer vacations, weekend trips for those going to the Gorge Amphitheatre and those looking for a great home to get away and relax.

Perched on the main road overlooking the Columbia River (unobstructed views by the way!), this home provides guests with a quaint and quiet atmosphere. Plus, we are dog friendly (up to two dogs for $200 pet fee).

Sunland is a small, quiet community, yet it offers quite a bit. The Gorge Amphitheatre is 5 miles away, along with Cave B winery and SageCliffe Resort and Spa. Frenchman Coulee is 8 miles away and has some incredible rock formations, terrific rock climbing and some hiking to see the falls. Ancient lakes trailhead is 18 miles away and offers several hiking paths worth getting up early for to beat the heat in the summer.

Bringing a boat? Sunland offers a boat launch (no dock). Enjoy the beautiful views, go up river and take your time coming back down. The sandbar is just a little ways north of Sunland, and head up to Crescent bar for lunch at Tower Pizza.

Outside Cameras: For security purposes, we have four outdoor cameras: one doorbell camera, one at the north and south side of the home, and one above garage. These cameras help us with weather monitoring, package deliveries, security and assisting guests. There are no indoor cameras.

Summary: The little house was perfect for girls trip to the Gorge. Beds super comfy and the house was wells stocked. It is approximately 10 minutes drive from the Gorge amphitheatre, and the little town area is cute, but not a lot of amenities in town. Most are a drive away. Shop and gas up before you come.
