Summary: Great staff. Property is a little dated but chill vibe and beautiful setting more than made up for it. Very good restaurant. Would def choose it over the commotion of Bar Harbor.

Summary: The history of this property is unique. We are very glad as a family to be able to experience it. Staff is very courteous. The building is old but kept very clean. It is beautiful.

Summary: Charming 19th century inn on the quiet side of MDI. We had adjoining rooms on the first floor, connected by a cute bathroom complete with a clawfoot bathtub. We commented on the historic details from the brass key to enter the room to the porcelain sinks in the rooms. We checked in around midnight and the night auditor was welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed breakfast on the deck with the breathtaking view of Northeast Harbor. Five stars! We noted several negative reviews which appeared to be written by people who don’t appreciate the charm of a historic inn. Folks looking for modern conveniences such as television and central air conditioning should look to stay on the other side of the island where new hotels are plentiful. We noticed that the hotel staff mentioned updates planned for this year and really hope the hotelier will seek to preserve as much of the historic charm as possible. We have stayed at the Asticou Inn previously and intend to return.
